How Does Wayzim’s Identification System Ensure Precision and Efficiency of Baggage Handling in the airport?

With the rapid growth of the aviation industry and the increasing number of passengers, the demand for speed and accuracy in baggage handling has escalated. The baggage handling system faces numerous challenges: precision in identification, diverse baggage types, damaged or lost tags, high-speed processing demands, and environmental factors. Addressing these issues, the identification system employs advanced technologies like RFID and intelligent camera recognition to ensure each piece of luggage is swiftly and accurately tracked and allocated. This not only boosts handling efficiency but also minimizes the risk of lost or misrouted baggage, significantly enhancing the passengers’ experience.

Identification System-Precision Identification and Efficient Sorting

The identification system serves as the “smart eyes” of an automated baggage handling system. It automatically reads the barcodes on baggage tags to ensure accurate baggage sorting to the appropriate flight destinations. This identification system offers two modes: RFID and camera recognition, both providing automated, precise information identification, solving the inefficiencies and errors associated with manual coding, and ensuring accurate subsequent sorting.

  1. RFID:

The RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) system consists of antennas, readers, and channel frameworks that automatically identify the electronic tag information of checked luggage through radio signals.

2. Camera Recognition System

The camera recognition system includes intelligent area-scan camera and intelligent line-scan camera, flexibly deployed on cross belts or conveyors to automatically read multiple sides of fast-moving luggage.

3. Features and Advantages

3.1 Accurate recognition: The camera recognition system automatically captures and matches baggage tag information, achieving an accuracy rate of 99.9% or higher.
3.2 Barrier-free recognition: RFID technology uses radio frequency signals to penetrate non-metallic, non-transparent materials such as paper, wood, and plastic, enabling 360-degree information reading.
3.3 Efficient and stable: RFID stores baggage data within a chip without being damaged by water, oil, and chemicals or interfered with by label deformation.

4.2 Intelligent Area-scan Camera-Precisely scans barcodes on the top and four sides of luggage.

Based on proprietary image algorithm technology, the WZ-ZA Intelligent Area-scan Camera highly integrates LED strobe light sources, the industrial lens with a large depth of field, and high-speed and high-resolution image acquisition components. Powered by built-in technologies such as “horizontal and vertical barcode stitching”, “super-resolution reconstruction”, and “pixel-level lossless rotation”, it can read a variety of barcodes fast, with an accuracy rate of up to 99.9%.

4.3 Intelligent Line-scan Camera-Accurately scans and identifies barcodes on the bottom of luggage.

The Intelligent Line-scan Camera series is highly integrated with linear light sources, fixed-focus industrial lenses, high-speed and high-resolution image capturing components, an embedded processor, and a control system. It can scan and identify barcodes line by line, and output the results through the interface.

The identification system plays a crucial role in enhancing efficiency, security, and service quality, essential for the growth of the aviation industry. Shorter wait times and reduced baggage loss or damage improve passenger experience. The data support from the identification system helps optimize baggage handling processes, enhancing service quality and customer satisfaction.
